Kye Marshall
Kye Marshall is a professional composer, cellist and jazz and free improvisor with six CD’s to her credit: Standard Time, a compilation of jazz standards with Don Thompson (bass and piano) and Dan Ionescu (guitar), Pencil Blues, Say When and Winter’s End, her original jazz compositions with Don Thompson (piano), In The Moment and Chiaroscuro: spontaneous compositions with Tom Baker (piano) Her latest CD of original compositions, Pencil Blues, May 2013 was nominated best jazz CD of the year by TIMA.
Her compositions have been performed locally at such venues as the Glenn Gould Studios, Harbourfront, the Music Gallery, NY Performing Arts Centre, the Royal Conservatory of Music, Trinity-St. Paul's Centre, Markham Centre for the Performing Arts, AGO Multisensory Ipad tours, on TVO, on Jazz.FM and CBC Radio and in the USA, Italy and Austria. She has written for an opera , for Orchestra, a Concerto for Bass Trombone and for many different combinations of instruments including full orchestra, string quartet, brass quintet, two harps, piano, voice and choir. Kye has also written four film scores, thirty-six jazz compositions, and for theatre, dance and CBC radio drama. The Northern Lights Canadian National Conservatory of Music has published six of her piano pieces and was twice the winner of the CNFMT best piano composition.

Marshall was the winner of the Ron Collier Composition Award and the CFMTA piano composition competition in 2010 and 2012, and has received awards, commissions and grants from all the major funding bodies (TAC, OAC, Canada Council, CAPAC, Socan and the Canadian Music Centre and TD).
As a photographer Kye Marshall has had solo shows at at the Yorkville Library, Axis Gallery and Grill, Richview Library, Canadian Music Centre, Window Box (Gallery1313), Fairview Library and in group shows at Propeller Gallery, Praxis Gallery , IndexG, Aird Gallery, Tayriver Gallery, Gallery 44, and Gallery 1313 . Her work was also chosen for Yes Art Gala, Your Ontario contest and the CNMTA Centennial book

- April 11, 2016 Endangered Species premiered by the Halcyon String Quartet in Toronto.
- March 8, 2016 Two Movements for String Orchestra was premiered by the Eurorchestra in Italy.
