Karen Rowell was born in Woodstock, Ontario. At 17, Karen attended the Banff School of Fine Arts’ Gifted Youth program. She holds Piano Performance and Teacher’s Associate diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto. Ms. Rowell was awarded the performer’s gold medal with Western Conservatory of Music [Conservatory Canada]. Karen has since earned her Licentiate and Fellowship with Trinity College of London, England [piano performance] and in 1995 was appointed to the Royal Conservatory of Music Board of Examiners. Karen and her husband live in London, Ontario, and raise three children who inspire and try out new compositions.
