Aury Murray
Aury Murray, an executive member of CNCM, is a passionate teacher and driving force behind the promotion and development of CNCM programs. A familiar face at Summer Sizzle, Aury loves to share her experience and creativity with students, parents, and teachers.
Aury has completed both the Associate Piano and Associate Voice Teacher’s Examinations of the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music (now Conservatory Canada). In addition, she holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts – Music Major from Lakehead University. She has taught vocal ensemble for the Music Department of Lakehead University and has guest lectured for the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University. As a clinician for the Lakehead Board of Education, she presented a workshop on “Choral Music in the Classroom”.
After many years of teaching piano and voice in Thunder Bay, she moved with her family in 1995 to Toronto where she established her present music studio. She served for three years on the Provincial Council of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association as a Metro Toronto Zone Representative. At the same time, she conducted the Choristers of the Etobicoke Canadian Federation of University Women and was a member of Arts Etobicoke. In addition to teaching privately, Aury conducts piano, harpsichord and voice workshops and master classes. She also accompanies vocal and flute students in master classes, auditions and conservatory examinations. Her other musical activities include Organist and Choir Director of Erindale Presbyterian Church in Mississauga, as well as adjudicator of piano and voice for ORMTA, Kiwanis Music Festivals and other regional music festivals.
